All it takes is a little research to uncover that what is likely one of the best horror movies of the last few years hasn’t really seen the light of day. Paranormal Activity is an indi movie by director Oren Peli. Just from the trailer (see above) – it looks like it completely reeks of awesomeness.
Apparently, there is going to be a limited release of this movie sometime in the future – hopefully they will come to my area and I’ll be able to check this out in theaters. (this just looks like a movie that should be seen in theaters, doesn’t it?)
Reports are that a big strength of the movie is the performance by Katie Featherston – which could mean that this movie might be here breakout performance (much like Jennifer Carpenter owning the place in “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”) – even the story of a pretty girl being tortured by evil spirits is a good paralell. It seems Katie already has another horror gig lined up – here’s hoping for a new scream queen!
